Application
Used as antiseptic and fungicide.Generate free propionate in the acidic environment,which has antibacterial property, the lower the pH the better the effect is. Have specialeffect on inhibitting the production of aflatoxin and various types of fungi,gram-negative bacilli but liitle on yeast,and have good effect when used for anti-rotten and anti-caking of grain.Use compound of propionic acid and ammonium as preservative of feed and grain.
Dosage
Antibacterial ability is affected by the pH value of the environment.The MIC is 0.01% at pH5.0 while 0.5% at pH6.5.
